My Sacred Journey to Egypt - Isis Temple

A picture of myself taken standing in the Temple of the Goddess Isis

Welcome back everyone.

The Temple of the Goddess Isis on the Island of Philae was one of my most memorable private visits in Egypt.
We were woken at 5 am in preparation for our ceremony in this beautiful temple.
As we made our way across to the island in our small boat it was dark and everyone was silent.
All that could be heard was the gentle lapping of the water against the side of the boat.
Arriving we all filed quietly in to the Temple and to the room known as the Holly of Hollies.

Dr Morad with an Inspector who remained with us during our time in the Temple
We'll join Dr Morad as he talks about this wonderful place.
The place you enter is called the Holly of Hollies.
Every Temple consists of limited items and additions after that but every Temple must have a Holly of Hollies.

The Holly of HolliesThe Holly of Hollies is actually the top secret room in an Egyptian Temple where the Goddess or the God is living there.
Remember every Temple has a Father, Mother and Son.
The other rooms are the rest of the Temple..normally in the Temple we find everybody see's the back of the Temple, but actually it is the beginning of the Temple.

Firstly the room of the God or Goddess who belongs to the Temple and then the husband and wife.
In front of it which is where everybody is standing there is a big hall...consists of columns and pillars and it like the celebration one.

But notice inside the Holly of Hollies one is dark... when the light goes off we didn't see anything because remember the story that creation started from darkness and ocean and then suddenly a piece of land emerged and the Creator who created himself appeared at the top of this house....the outside representing the mortar of him and the statue of the Goddess who was put here... is representing the appearance of the Creator.

Notice when we go outside we go down steps which is the opposite ...it is raised up from the ocean and darkness and when you are here and when the light goes off...nobody else could see in here.
Because it is dark ....when we go inside we can see everything out which is the God can see and nobody can see him.
He goes out...when he goes out he goes in a procession...carried in a boat and there you can see the pictures of these boats outside or in the other temples....then he is like shinning to the people and when he comes to the light... its like sitting in the sunshine.

Other pictures on the wall....what are all these other pictures.
Well actually all these pictures either prayers to the Gods or instructions of the service to be done to the God.
What kind of service ...the God was considered a person in need of his needs...and the priest was coming at the crack of dawn as he did and nobody was allowed to enter this room except for one person who's the Holly person....supposedly the King because the King cannot be in all the thousands of Temples in the same moment to do the service.
Then there was a man helping him do that...was called the High Priest...he was the only one who was allowed to enter the room.
The priests have asssitants as well...then the priests have grades and nobody was allowed to pass his line according to his grade.
Then the priests are there and can not come here because their grades are not allowed them to pass the this line....the highest one that could go inside is the High Priest.
What we call it...daily service from sunrise till the sun sets....when the sun sets he goes home...the door is closed and nobody can enter till the next dawn when he comes and opens it.

Dr Morad describing the pictures on the wall of the Temple.
Lets see some of these pictures and what that means...this side first...if we look at all these pictures we see here..there..everywhere...these are instructions of what is going to happen from sunrise to sun set...hour per hour actually.
What I want to tell you or to show you some of these very important sacred things.
Look at this picture....that man...this is the King and his name is written in the word in a kartush of course.
His name is written because this Temple was rebuilt remember...the last people who rebuilt the Temple at that time actually were Greek.

Then the name is written here....but what is the King doing....forget about his name...he is holding the eye...some of you say the Eye of Horus....and Horus's name is written here...Horus is the Falcon and look at this...this is the house of Horus...you see that.
We define this Hed Hor ...the shelter of Hor or Horus which is the name of the Goddess we call Hathor.
Then this is the Goddess Hathor and this is Horus himself and the eye is given to him.
What is this story of this eye and what did eye represent....in the early early hisory of the Gods you remember there was a kind of war happening between Horus and his Uncle Set ....the darkness and power.
In one of these battles the Uncle took the eye of Horus...he made one of his eyes blind.
Isis the Mother Goddess of healing power ... she collected all these pieces and fragments of the pieces...she made a special eye and returned it back to Horus...not only to see but to be protected from the evil forever.
Then if anybody is carrying this eye...it is a very powerful eye to protect any person from evil ...see he is returning the eye back to him which was made by Isis ..this was a big ceremony.
The other thing there is ....Osiris the Mummy...you see him here and you see the wings of Isis is protecting him.

The other protected symbol I want you to see is not clear but I want you to imagine ...look here he's holding two things can you see that...and you know of course the sister image it with me no is the head of the Goddess with two ears of a cow because she was representing the one who offers the milk...but on top of her head there is a design of like a Temple but actually its a box made of wood surrounded by these two things...see them.
These are just wire springs and you shake it they vibrate...when they vibrate they make tunes. The harmony of the energies and that temple box is working like a musical box...making a sound...very big when you shake it and used in ceremonies for Goddess Isis and Hathor.

Unfortunately I do not have defined pictures depicting what Dr Morad is describing but below are others that adorn the temple walls.

My Sacred journey to Egypt 2009 - Aswan

Welcome  back everyone.

I'd like to begin by briefly talking about how my blog began for those who are new visitors to my site.
My earliest  recollection of my facination of Egypt and its history goes back to my school days when we did a school project where I first learnt about the Great Pyramids and the world of the Pharaohs.
Little did I know that some years later... definately to many to mention, that I would be blessed to visit this wonderous and mystical country.
Elisabeth Jensen

In 2007 I met and began studying Isis Lotus Healing with Elisabeth Jensen, Founder of the Isis Mystery School in Adelaide South Australia www.isismysteryschool.com and later that year I went on my first Sacred Journey with her and seventeen other people.
We visited some amazing places and of course took lots of photo's.

On my return my interest in Egypt's ancient history and its people past and present, just grew and grew.
Elisabeth & myself

In 2009 I went on my second Sacred Journey to Egypt with Elisabeth and on my return undertook the Isis Lotus Healing Teacher's Course - read more at  isisblessings.com

Dr Morad with Medhat our wonderful tour guide

We were very lucky to have our own Egyptologist Dr  Morad who travelled with us throughout our tour.
He was very happy for me to record his stories and upon my return I transcribed them.
I began my blog to allow others to read and learn more about this incrediable country and its Ancient Mythology (see previous blogs)

Dr Morhad will once again share his knowledge beginning with the city of Aswan.

The name of the city in Ancient times was called the ivory market and to pronounce it by the Egyptians language in this time was Swan...then it became Aswan now a days.
But the original name is Swan.
And that island...we are going to...it was a big market because they were coming by boats...bringing all these ivory...and not only ivory but ivory was the famous thing.
They were bringing lepard skins and wood for arrows and arrow bows and all the stuff...was brought there.

Archaeological diggings on Elephantine Island
Then the island was the island of the market of the ivory.
Then it was called Elephantine Island accordingly.
But this island before being a market it was a place of very famous Ancient God in the Egyptian mythology.

The Ram headed God KhnomThat God was Khnom...and Khnom in Egyptian mythology is the one who makes the mankind from the clay...you remember that at the beginning of the creation by his hands he took the clay....he makes the statue of the man on a potter wheel and the creation of the human appears.
And he is one of the big Gods in the Egyptian mythology and he was known in this area since the history of Eygpt was known.

And Isis was known as well in the same area.
Then two big temples were here...one for Khnom and one for Isis.
Even sometimes we found  problems between the priests about the properties ...no those are ours....no they belong to us and those kind of problems... and sometimes they fight with each other till a contract was signed between them in front of the Gods and written on a island on a big rock of granite.

Isis Temple
When they build the Temple of Isis they left it as it was...in the wall is a big piece of granite...it doesn't match with the design but this is the old contract about the properties.

Of course every temple from now on we are going to visit...belong to three Gods...Father..Mother and son...always like that...we call it the Triad which is the Trinity in English...then every temple must have Father, Mother and son.
And sometimes one temple have a chapel for the wife.. a chapel for the son and a big one for the owner of the temple as a God.
All three rooms in the back...a big room for the owner of the temple and husband and son... if she is a female or wife and son if he is a married God like that.
This is something that you have to know every temple must have this Triad...this family...Father, Mother and son.

Here the temple like any temple I mentioned to you before was rebuilt and rennovated  and rebuilt and rennovated through the history.
It never continued the same building in more than three thousand years but it was rebuilt several times till the Greek time.
When the Greek came our official memory...the Greek here in 300 BC...the Greek actually brought their own religion and they did not understand the Egyptian religion in the beginning.

Paintings on the wall inside one of many temples in Egypt.People...the Egyptians are worshipping animals...they have cows and they have rams because Khnom is a ram...by the way ram headed human...body...then you'll find the Egyptian Gods are human bodies and different animals head and they were not animals....they were connected to these animals but they were not animals in their belief.

The Greek thought they are animals and they closed the temples and those people who were shipping animals all over the temples....when they did so they lost Egypt.
The Egyptians never obeyed them or listened to them.
Then one called Bartholomew the second who was the second Greek King of Egypt...advise to reopen the temples and he did...when he reopened the temples all the Egyptians obeyed them.. and then they respected the Egyptian beliefs...even though they did not believe in it and in this case even they encourage the priests to continue because by this way...they could control the whole people who are big believers.

Then in the Greek time these temples were funded or allowed to be funded under the Greek orders and gifts and everything like that.
Then we'll go there we see the remains of this temple from the Old Kingdom...we'll see the remains specifically in the Greek time and we'll see the remains in the New Kingdom time and different Kings.
This means this place was Holly all these three thousand years and many more coming here and there.
By the way that King Bartholomew...when he did reopen the temples the Egyptian's priests thanked him because he is Greek...they couldn't understand the language...then they wrote him a thanking letter on a big stone...to thank him in Greek.
They wrote it in Greek language but their own language is in hieroglyphics and it was written in hieroglyphics and Greek... this is what we call a presenter stone...a stone which was used to decipher the language.
Because of that thanking letter this King in particular ...thanking him in Greek and Egyptian... then we know the this language... Greek is known.
Egyptian wasn't known... then one French archaeologist could read the Greek and said this must be the transcription of that and this was the beginning of deciphering the language.
The big stone is kept in the British Museum now and is called the Rosetta Stone.

Coming soon ....we go inside the temples with Dr Morad

My Sacred Journey to Egypt 2009 - Tanis (Bubastis) Temple

Welcome back everyone

Today we visit Tanis (Bubastis) Temple and Dr Morad also gives us the opportunity to better understand and appreciate the history and beauty behind the building of Egypt's Great Temples.

Dr Morad Egyptologist

Temple is not a word in the Ancient Egyptian language...and what you think about a Temple is not what they think about the Temple.

Karnak Temple
Then what was the Temple...the Temple was called the house of the God and God is living in this house and nobody was allowed to go and disturb the God in the house.
And the servants of the God were called the priests and their job is serving the God....daily from sunrise to sunset.
And all the people did if they wanted something from these Temples and Gods...they were coming outside the Temple...knocking on the door...the priest would open the door and listen to them...what exactly they want.

Holly of Hollies room
They carried a message to the God in his room...and the room was called the Holy of Hollies.
The other thing I want you to understand is the God would know in this spot in this instance...the human appeared.

In a time the people they worship these Gods...for example if they suffered from scorpions killing them here and there...they would pick up the God who controlled the scorpions and they built him a house and they gave him service everyday from sunrise till sunset.
The Gods would be satisfied from the service....he would protect them from the harm that can happen by these scorpions.
Then you'll find the God here in this area was the scorpion God.

Hathor the Cow Goddess
The other area was the cow Goddess because the meaty bits from the cattle who would be protected...then they would bring the Goddess who controlled the cow....this was Hathor in some places.
Then they built that God a house and they built it by the material they are using.
We will go back 10,000 years BC...only the material there they were using was straw....straw huts.
Then the house of the God was designed by the straw huts like their houses as well.
Then after thousands of years they discovered we can mix the straw with mud and we can make bricks....mud bricks....and they use these mud bricks for building.... and they came to the same location of the God and they move the straw house...and they built one by mud bricks but in the same spot.
Then the spot was so Holly even after thousands of years past and many buildings had been added.
They recycled the building....but the soul of the God and the power of the God still in that same spot.
And after years the mud gets deteriorated...they have to renew it...then every time it was the duty of the King in charge to keep this Temple alive and then a lot of rebuilding and rebuilding of the same place.
Then they discovered the stones....then they made the same design of the straw hut by the stone and so on.
Kings came and built it here in the Temple which you did see.
Most of these were re built by the older King who was called Rames II and the date of Rames II is one thousand two hundred years before Christ.

Ruins of the Temple of the Cat Goddess Bastet
But the Goddess Bastet was known ten thousand years before his appearance....then that give you an idea about the importancy of the place.

Some of you came to me and I showed you the old stones that were used by the King to make his statue and the bottom of the stone draws the remains of a Temple before writings of the Temple before.

In the same area a little bit further to the east from where we are standing....we found a big cemetery of mummified cats....thousands of them as mummies were found in that location.
A lot of them now are moved in the different museums and most of them are kept in the area there.

Elisabeth and myself after our meditation in the ruins of the Temple

And there were a lot of sacred animals who were buried in different Temple.
In that area cats were found here because the Goddess Bastet was the Goddess of this spot here and had a big Temple and the true Bastet is the name of the place.

What happened to the mummies in general....if these mummies were found especially in the 17 & 18 th century...18 mostly... there was a kind of idea in Europe that you can heal by the Egyptian mummy dust.
Then they were imported a lot of the mummies....human mummies or animal mummies from Egypt....and actually powdered them and use them for healing...put them in bottles and that's what destroyed a lot of our mummies....what ever they were because it was a big business happened in that time.

Overnight train to Aswan
Next.......All aboard as we travel overnight to Aswan on the train.

My Sacred Journey To Egypt 2009 - Our Journey Throughout Egypt Begins

Welcome back everyone and thanks for the messages
of appreciation.

Today we begin our journey throughout Egypt and we will be joined again by Dr Morad as he shares his interesting and informative stories and of course his humor.

So lets begin!

Dr MoradOn our trip you will see Cairo is very crowded, especially those of you from Australia....when you drive sometimes 6 hours and you see a person...a kangaroo.
Here you find between a person and a person...another person...between a car and another car ...a car.

The centre of Cairo
Then we have the traffic attention together... and the people who are planning to sit in the front...I advise you don't have weak hearts because you'll have strokes about every five minutes and heart attack from driving in Cairo.
And of course this will be a good chance for the healer's to work with you when you have your heart attack....then some will be happy with me today.
Our driver will give alot of heart attacks and a lot of business.

While we're driving in Cairo we'll talk about subject here...subject there.. and after leaving Cairo we'll travel a short distance...in kind of desert really.
Then we'll reach the delta...the delta is the most fertile area of Egypt and we see countryside there and villages till we reach our first stop...which will be the Temple of the cat Goddess...she was called Bastet....there we'll see the Temple and talk about it ....spend a period of time there and we'll return to Cairo.
And then people who got a heart attack in the front can switch with the others....to have another heart attack for them as well ...and they can have the experience and the healers can make more money.

When we come back we'll have sometime between the arrival of Cairo and the overnight train to Aswan.
Then we'll go to see a Papyrus institute and see a demonstration of how the Ancient Egyptian's made papyrus paper.

My name painted in hieroglyphics
We can see the papyrus paper almost 4,000 years old in the museum and we know how this was in very good condition.
Then we'll see the real ones because in the street they say there banana leaves....they don't take as real papyrus...these are banana leaves when they come to do that.
But we'll go and see the real ones on our return back from our trip today.

How long will it take....estimated time of going there is two and half hours or three days depending on the traffic in Cairo.

Traffic rules are non existant and people do not use their indicators, instead using their car horns and flash their lights.
The roads are shared between horse and buggy's, cars, buses and older trucks.
Some trucks would have like a open back with a canopy over it and people seated inside and then there would be more people standing holding on to the rails of the truck.

We took this photo when we were sitting inside the buggy

I think we would call it rafferty's rules in Australia.
Everyone for themselves....stopping and starting in the middle of intersections and roundabout's.

What you see around you ....look you will see fields and green fields and then ugly houses.....you see these ugly buildings here and there.

The law in Egypt is this land which is cultivated land...is  completely to build on it... any buildings because our land is limited.... less than five percent of our land is cultivated....the rest of it is desert and this five percent is not enough to feed the people here.
We import alot of our food from abroad especially the wheat ....but what happened ... Cairo expanded and expanded and came to the pyramids.

The city of Cairo with the Great Pyramid in the foreground
All this area was empty one day.
When it came near the pyramids...the price of land here to be building land...raised incredibly high.
Then the farmers found out...there was a chance to sell it to build on it and he can make alot of money...more for those farmers for the next hundred years....he can make it in one shot by selling it.

Unfinshed buildingsBut... its against the law...who cares...its a crime you understand me.
The crime amount is nothing compared to the money they are making.

Then they do it tricky way...they sell it to the builders and the one bought it is building it...then the buildings are unfinished....look at them...it is a sign they are for sale ...apartments here.

They make them unfinished complely in and out..cheap..and then they can find buyers...buy this price quickly and those buyers buy and they finish them for themselves inside.
Everybody is finishing his flat from inside and they don't care about outside because it cost them more money...then they finish it from inside only.
Second its against the law...they are buildings here without plans...they cannot make plans until the government gives the plan....then there are built haphazard.
There are no home loans in Egypt, people buy a piece of land and bricks and build themselves.
If they run out of money it may take them years to build the next floor.

You will find the streets are very narrow....the sewage system is not supplied and they force the government to supply them clean water and electricity....then you see satellite dishes and every one like that but actually sewage system is one of the problems of this place.
The streets are not paved there muddy and  when it rains..it never rains in this country...they become muddy and so on.
Thats why they look ugly for this again.

The newspapers by the government ...they would like to commute all those people in other healthy houses and demolish the area and then its new things here.
I doubt...because they can't move about a million people living in these places.

Next we visit Tanis ( Bubastis)Temple to meet Goddess Bast.

Happy New Year Everyone

Happy New Year!
Happy New Year everyone.
It has been a long time between blogs.
As one year ends and a new one begins it is not uncommon for some of us to spend a little time in reflection.
With 2012 upon me I've been doing exactly that and I'd like to share with you a look back at 2011.

My dear friend Lynda related the following saying to me recently
Life isn't about waiting for the storm to be over
It's about learning how to dance in the rain.
I agree life can be like that and upon serious thought it best describes what 2011 was like for me....a year of excitement... personal growth.... chaos... solitude and endings.

For many years I have been interested in learning  massage therapy, so I set my self a goal to undertake a course in 2011.
In February I completed an Introduction to Massage through the Australian College of Massage in Adelaide.
I enjoyed it so much that I enrolled for a Diploma of Remedial Massage.
I am pleased to anounce that Isis Blessings now offer's Theraputic Massage and in the future will be offering Remedial Massage, including Deep Tissue and Sport's massage.
See the website for more details http://www.isisblessings.com

Pictured myself and Founder of Mystical Dragon Amanda
In August I was invited to the Mystical Dragon in Melbourne to teach Isis Lotus Healing Level 1.
I'd like to thank Amanda, Nolene and all my students for a wonderful weekend of healing and sharing.

Kwan Yin Goddess of Compassion

In September I attended a Kwan Yin Violet Light Healing Day led by Elisabeth Jenson at the Isis Mystery School in Adelaide.
Kwan Yin is the beloved Goddess of compassion.
Her energy assits you to magnify your healing energy through your hands and heart.
A beautiful course that nourishes the soul.
Visit http://www.isismysteryschool.com/course_info to register for the upcoming course on Febuary 11 2012 in Adelaide.

Mu Mum & Dad on thier 40th Wedding Anniversary
Early in 2011 I wrote about the declining health of my parents.
My Dad aged 92 was diagnosed with Leukemia  in March and could no longer care for my Mum and she went to live in our local nursing home in Crystal Brook.
It was a particularly hard time for them both after being together for 42 years.
It was a quite chaotic period for me where I found much of my time was taken up looking after them.
Later in the year she had a fall and broke her hip and wrist.
Unfortunately she never fully recovered and passed away in October.
In December my Dad died unexpectantly from a short illness.
I'd like to take this opportunity to thank everyone for their prayers, phone calls and condolences. Two beautiful souls now at rest.

David Cooper wrote 'In the end, everyone is our teacher, on one level or another. The child is our teacher, our friends, our family, the stranger on the street. Every experience is a challenge; a teaching is always hidden in it. Every thought that bubbles up in our mind can teach us things about ourselves, if we are able to listen'.

2012

It is written that each week brings us 168 golden hours. We spend approximately 56 hours for sleep and recuperation; 28 hours for eating and personal duties and 40 - 50 hours for earning a living. We have 30 -40 hours left to spend just as we wish.
But how do we spend them? (Author Unknown)

I think where ever our journey takes us in life it is important to take time for ourselves; to walk and enjoying our surroundings; to take time to relax; to being creative and to spend time in unhurried conversations with friends and family.

The Goddess IsisI am pleased to say that I will be returning to the Mystical Dragon on May 19 & 20 th 2012  to teach Isis Lotus Healing Level 1 and later in the year to teach Angel Miracles 1 & 2.
